Lucknow, 5th Oct. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged senior police officials to address recent railway track obstruction incidents and ensure their prevention. During a special meeting with ADG-level officers, he expressed concern over the discovery of cylinders, rods, and other objects on railway tracks, as well as stones being thrown at trains.
Adityanath directed the collaboration of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), railway administration, and civil police to tackle these issues effectively. He emphasized the need for strengthening local intelligence to prevent such incidents, which have been reported in districts including Kanpur, Rampur, Mahoba, and Farrukhabad over the past few months.
In addition to addressing railway safety, the Chief Minister announced the introduction of an e-pension system for police personnel and stressed the importance of adhering to promotion timelines. He highlighted the need for accurate record-keeping, appropriate officer postings based on qualifications, and timely payment of retirement dues.
Adityanath further outlined directives for improved coordination and timely reporting within the police force, advocating for regular field visits by ADG-level officers to enhance oversight and make necessary improvements.
