Canadian PM Admits ‘Some Mistakes’ Leading To Record Immigration Levels

Published:

In a significant turn of events, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has now acknowledged that his government “made some mistakes” leading to record immigration levels, necessitating a “big turn” in policy.

“In the last two years, our population has grown really fast, like baby boom, fast and increasingly bad actors like fake colleges and big chain corporations have been exploiting our immigration system for their own interests,” Trudeau said in the video.

Trudeau stated that after the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a clear need to bring in more workers. “So, we brought in additional labor. It was the right decision, and it worked. Our economy grew, businesses reopened, and most importantly, despite many economists’ predictions, we avoided a recession. However, some saw this as an opportunity to exploit the system for profit,” he explained.

He criticized numerous colleges and universities for taking advantage of international students to increase their profits, stating, “Too many schools have used international students to boost their bottom line,” and adding, “This fraud and abuse must stop.”

He explained that some institutions charge international students significantly higher tuition fees for the same degree compared to domestic students. “Then, there are the worst offenders who exploit vulnerable immigrants, offering false promises of jobs, degrees, and easy citizenship pathways that will never come to fruition,” he said.
