In a significant move, a Canadian Superior Court has issued an injunction to restrict protests near the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir in Scarborough, Toronto. The order, which prevents gatherings and protest activities within 100 meters of the temple, aims to safeguard the premises during the Indian Consular Camp scheduled for Saturday, November 30, 2024.

The directive was issued following concerns over potential disruptions by Khalistani protesters, ensuring that the temple remains accessible and secure for visitors during the camp. The injunction applies between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on the designated day, underscoring the court’s commitment to maintaining peace and order.
The Hindu Cultural Society, which oversees the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, expressed gratitude to the Toronto Police Service for their unwavering support. In a public statement, the society commended the 42 Division officers for their efforts in facilitating the Indian Consular Camp.
“Your commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community during this important event was exemplary and greatly appreciated,” the statement read. “By providing a secure and welcoming environment, you enabled countless community members to access vital consular services with peace of mind. We are truly thankful for your dedication and partnership, which contribute to fostering harmony and trust within our diverse community. Thank you for your service!”
