Britain’s Ex PM Rishi Sunak Enjoys Cricket At Mumbai’s Iconic Oval Maidan

Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak embraced Mumbai’s vibraant cricket culture during his visit to the city on Sunday, playing a friendly game at the historic Oval Maidan and Parsee Gymkhana. Sharing glimpses of the experience on Instagram, Sunak expressed his delight at taking part in the beloved sport.

“No trip to Mumbai would be complete without a game of tennis ball cricket. Oval Maidan remains one of the world’s great grassroots cricketing arenas, where people of all ages come together to play. And just nearby, Parsee Gymkhana has been at the heart of Mumbai’s cricketing culture for generations, shaping young talent and keeping the spirit of the game alive. The energy, talent, and love for the sport here are incredible,” Sunak wrote.

Sunak visit to Mumbai came after his trip to Jaipur on Friday, where he attended the renowned Jaipur Literature Festival. The former UK leader, who stepped down as Conservative Party chief following his party’s electoral defeat in July last year. He remains an active Member of Parliament for Richmond and Northallerton in Yorkshire.
