GG News Bureau
Kolkata, 4th Oct. Former Member of Parliament and BJP leader Arjun Singh alleged that his office-cum-residence in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, was attacked on Friday morning around 8:30 AM.

Singh claimed that a group of individuals threw stones, hurled bombs, and fired multiple gunshots during the incident, resulting in a splinter wound he reportedly sustained.

In a tweet accompanied by a video, Singh accused “jihadi” elements and local goons of attacking his office, known as Mazdoor Bhawan, while many were occupied with Navratri Puja.

He specifically named Namit Singh, an accused in NIA cases and the son of a local All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) councillor, as being behind the attack. Singh claimed that local police stood by as the assailants brandished firearms openly, asserting, “Around 15 bombs were thrown, and more than a dozen rounds were fired.”

The authenticity of the video shared by Singh has not been independently verified by PTI. An officer from the Jagatdal police station stated that there were no confirmed injuries and that senior police officials were present at the scene to investigate the matter further.

Singh, who switched allegiance from the Trinamool Congress to the BJP, lost in the recent general elections to TMC’s Partha Bhowmick. Jagatdal MLA Somenath Shyam refuted Singh’s claims, suggesting that the BJP leader is blaming the TMC for his personal political issues.

Shyam stated, “After losing his political footing, he is blaming the TMC for problems he created himself, along with other local conflicts unrelated to our party.”
