Bengaluru, 18th Jan. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has announced a ban on the sale and serving of non-vegetarian food within a 13-km radius of Yelahanka Air Force Station from January 23 to February 17, 2025. The move comes ahead of the 15th edition of the Aero India Show, scheduled from February 10 to 14.
The decision, outlined in a public notice, aims to prevent scavenger birds, particularly kites, from being attracted to food waste, which could pose risks to aircraft during the show. Violators will face penalties under the BBMP Act-2020 and the Indian Aircraft Rules 1937.
Aero India 2025 will feature a Defence Ministers’ Conclave, CEOs’ round-table, and an expansive exhibition showcasing innovations in aerospace and defence. Since its inception in 1996, the biennial event has grown into a premier global platform for industry leaders to collaborate and display their advancements.
