Azerbaijan Airlines Plane Crashes In Kazakhstan

A passenger plane crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Initial reports suggested there were survivors. Emergency services were trying to put out a fire at the crash site, reports Reuters, citing the Central Asian country’s Emergencies Ministry.

According to reports, the plane, operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, caught fire as it went down near the city of Aktau, but officials said the fire had since been put out.

Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 was en route from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia. However, reports say it was diverted due to fog.
