Following the controversial arrest of spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das, another Hindu priest, Shyam Das Prabhu, was taken into custody in Chattogram, Bangladesh. The priest was reportedly detained on Saturday after visiting Chinmoy Krishna Das in jail

The arrest follows a wave of protests triggered by the detention of Chinmoy Krishna Das earlier this week. The former ISKCON member was arrested on sedition charges on Monday and denied bail on Tuesday. His detention has prompted demonstrations in key cities, including Dhaka and Chattogram, where members of the Hindu community have rallied to demand his release.
Activists and community leaders have criticized the arrests, calling them politically motivated and part of a broader pattern of targeting religious minorities. “Another Brahmachari Sri Shyam Das Prabhu was arrested by Chattogram Police today,” ISKCON spokesperson said.
