New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar met Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh in the national capital, seeking greater collaboration with the Centre to boost the state’s biotechnology sector.
During their discussion, the leaders explored ways to upscale biotechnology-related projects and enhance ongoing initiatives with central support. Satya Kumar expressed gratitude to the Modi government for its continued assistance and highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to leveraging biotechnology for healthcare advancements and industrial applications. Dr. Singh also highlighted national initiatives such as the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) funding and biotech missions, which have helped Andhra Pradesh witness substantial growth in biotech startups and industry partnerships. He noted that the renewed push for collaboration aims to further integrate the state into India’s broader biotechnology roadmap.
