Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates on Wednesday, engaging in a discussion centered on technology, innovation, and sustainability. Their conversation highlighted India’s developmental trajectory and its vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, focusing on advancements in artificial intelligence, healthcare, agriculture, and digital transformation.

Following the meeting, PM Modi described the exchange as “excellent,” emphasizing the importance of leveraging technology to create a better future. Gates, in turn, praised India’s progress, noting how innovation in the country is making an impact both locally and globally.
In his post on X, he wrote, “I had a great discussion with @narendramodi about India’s development, the path to Viksit Bharat @ 2047, and exciting advancements in health, agriculture, AI, and other sectors that are creating an impact today. It’s impressive to see how innovation in India is driving progress locally—and globally.”

Beyond their discussions, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also held talks with Gates on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue, where they explored global development challenges and India’s contributions to technological solutions.
