In a significant military operation, the U.S. Central Command Forces (CENTCOM) conducted a series of airstrikes against multiple identified ISIS camps in Syria during the early hours of October 11. CENTCOM announced the strikes through a post on X, emphasizing that these targeted operations aim to disrupt ISIS’s ability to plan and execute attacks against the United States and its allies.

The CENTCOM statement read, “The strikes will disrupt the ability of ISIS to plan, organize, and conduct attacks against the United States, its allies and partners, and civilians throughout the region and beyond.” Following the airstrikes, the command noted that battle damage assessments were underway and reported no indications of civilian casualties at this time.
This latest operation follows previous strikes carried out by U.S. forces in Syria. On September 29, CENTCOM executed precision strikes that resulted in the deaths of 37 terrorist operatives, including several senior ISIS leaders and members of Hurras al-Din, an Al Qaeda affiliate. The command reiterated that these actions are part of an ongoing commitment to degrade terrorist capabilities in the region.
Earlier, on September 24, a targeted strike in northwest Syria killed nine terrorist operatives, including Marwan Bassam ‘Abd-al-Ra’uf, a senior leader of Hurras al-Din. This organization has been linked to aspirations of conducting attacks against U.S. and Western interests globally. The successful elimination of such high-ranking figures illustrates CENTCOM’s sustained efforts to combat terrorist threats emanating from Syria.
