PM Modi Meets Japanese Business Delegation In Delhi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with a high-level Japanese business delegation on Wednesday, reaffirming India’s commitment to deepening its economic partnership with Japan. The delegation, comprising 17 members from the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee (JIBCC), was led by its Chairman, Tatsuo Yasunaga.

The visiting delegation included senior representatives from top Japanese corporations spanning key industries such as manufacturing, banking, airlines, pharmaceuticals, plant engineering, and logistics. Their discussions focused on expanding investments in India, strengthening manufacturing for global markets—particularly in Africa—and enhancing human resource development and skill training.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi took to X to express his optimism about the growing economic collaboration between the two nations.

Yasunaga briefed the Prime Minister on the 48th Joint Meeting of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee, set to take place on Thursday, in New Delhi. The meeting, held in partnership with India’s India-Japan Business Cooperation Committee, will focus on high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing, scaling up production for international markets, and collaborations in skill development.

Prime Minister Modi appreciated Japan’s expansion plans in India, emphasizing that skill development remains a key pillar of the India-Japan relationship. He welcomed Japan’s growing role in India’s industrial and technological growth, highlighting the shared vision of creating a globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem.
