Former President Donald Trump will return to Pennsylvania’s Butler, the site of the 2024 assassination attempt, for a high-stakes rally on October 5. With heightened security measures, the rally is expected to be a major event in his campaign push.
Tesla Chief and businessman Elon Musk said on Thursday that he will attend his rally and support Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
“I will be there to support,” Musk replied on a post by Trump on X, in which the Republican Presidential nominee announced his return to Butler.

Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, will also be seen along with him. The campaign is predicting tens of thousands of people will attend what is being pitched as a “tribute to the American spirit.” Local hotels, motels and inns are reportedly full and some eager rallygoers were already arriving Friday, according to a local Facebook page.
“President Trump looks forward to returning to Butler, Pennsylvania to honor the victims from that tragic day,” said Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt. “The willingness of Pennsylvanians to join President Trump in his return to Butler represents the strength and resiliency of the American people.”
At the Butler rally, where the July assassination attempt occurred, a bullet grazed Trump’s ear, just missing his head. However, the bullet struck and killed a Trump supporter who was attending the rally. The gunman, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, was shot and killed by a US Secret Service sniper.
Donald Trump is up against Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, 59, and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in the November 5 election, which polls show to be a tight race.
