Jamshedpur- The Jharkhand government has initiated the appointment process for vacant Vice-Chancellor positions in various state universities. As part of this process, Dr. Anjila Gupta has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Kolhan University, while Prof. Dinesh Singh has been named the Vice-Chancellor of Nilamber-Pitamber University. Dr. Gupta, currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of Jamshedpur Women’s University, is expected to take charge at Kolhan University soon. An official notification regarding the appointments has been issued by Raj Bhavan.

Dr. Anjila Gupta’s appointment marks a significant transition for Kolhan University, making her its sixth Vice-Chancellor and second female leader. Previously, Dr. Shukla Mohanty was the university’s first female Vice-Chancellor and its fourth overall.

However, her tenure at Jamshedpur Women’s University was marked by certain controversies, including issues related to the recruitment of computer operators, contract teachers, and irregularities in PhD and B.Ed admissions.
