New Delhi, 29th Sept. Delhi’s AAP Minister, Saurabh Bharadwaj, voiced strong concerns on Sunday over the state of law and order in the capital, alleging that an atmosphere of panic has gripped the city.

Bharadwaj slammed Lieutenant Governor (LG) V.K. Saxena, questioning his role in addressing the growing crime rates.

Bharadwaj pointed out that despite Delhi having 209 police stations, the LG has not prioritized visits to assess their functioning.

“Whenever there are matters related to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Public Works Department (PWD), or Delhi Jal Board, the LG inspects those sites with concerned officials and claims credit for the work,” the minister claimed.

Citing a recent shooting inside a showroom in Narayana, a Rs 3.45 crore heist in Gulabi Bagh, and a Rs 5 crore extortion demand in Mahipalpur linked to gangster Goldy Brar, Bharadwaj urged the LG to visit these crime scenes and address public safety concerns.

He demanded that Saxena, along with the police commissioner and home minister, take more proactive steps in curbing crime in Delhi.

The remarks come amid increasing public alarm over rising incidents of violence and thefts across the capital, prompting questions over the administration’s response.
