Even the military spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, announced on X. The post read, “Hassan Nasrallah is dead.”
Nasrallah is seen as the only figure capable of waging war or brokering peace. He had immense power in Lebanon.
Media reports claim that the 64-year-old’s daughter Zainab was also killed in the Israeli airstrikes, but there is no confirmation from Hezbollah.
In 2006, when Israel invaded Lebanon, it was rumoured that Nasrallah was killed. However, the Shiite leader reemerged days later unhurt.
