Hezbollah Chief Hassan Nasrallah Killed in Beirut Airstrike: Israel Army

Published:

Hezbollah’s chief, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in Israeli air strikes in Beirut on Friday night, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Saturday.

In a post on X, The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed the news. The post read, “Hassan Nasrallah Will No Longer Be Able To Terrorize The World.”

According to a report by Times of Israel, the Israeli Air Force struck Hezbollah’s main headquarters in Beirut, with Nasrallah believed to have been at the command centre at the time of the air strike.

Even the military spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, announced on X. The post read, “Hassan Nasrallah is dead.”

Nasrallah is seen as the only figure capable of waging war or brokering peace. He had immense power in Lebanon.

Media reports claim that the 64-year-old’s daughter Zainab was also killed in the Israeli airstrikes, but there is no confirmation from Hezbollah.

In 2006, when Israel invaded Lebanon, it was rumoured that Nasrallah was killed. However, the Shiite leader reemerged days later unhurt.
