Chandigarh, 24th Sept. The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, announced the transfer of 124 officers from the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) on Monday, September 23. These officers are assigned to various departments across the state.

In addition to the IAS transfers, the Cabinet also revealed the movement of 143 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and 7 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, marking a considerable shake-up within the state’s police and administrative framework. Further details regarding the specific postings and reasons for these transfers have yet to be disclosed.

This significant development follows the induction of five new cabinet ministers into the Punjab government. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Hardeep Singh Mundian, Barinder Kumar Goyal, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Mahinder Bhagat, and Ravjot Singh took their oaths during a swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhawan, officiated by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Katariya.

In parallel with Punjab’s administrative changes, the Rajasthan government also conducted a transfer of 183 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers on the same day. According to the Department of Personnel, key movements included the joint secretary in the Chief Minister’s office, Jaswant Singh, who was transferred to Bikaner as an additional divisional commissioner, alongside several additional collectors and subdivisional officers.
