The incident occurred between Ambernath and Badlapur stations under a flyover in the area. The victim, identified as Sahir Ali, was visiting relatives in Ambernath when he, along with friends and family, went near the railway tracks to take selfies and group photos. Tragically, while capturing a selfie, he failed to notice the approaching Koyna Express. The train hit him from behind, and he was run over, dying instantly.
Authorities were alerted, and personnel from the Kalyan Government Railway Police (GRP) rushed to the scene. The body was sent to a government hospital for post-mortem. A case of accidental death has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
The GRP has cautioned the public about the dangers of trespassing on railway tracks and urged people to avoid such risky behavior.
