“You have connected India with America and America with India,” PM Modi said. “Your skill, talent, and commitment are unmatched. No matter how far across the oceans you are, nothing can separate you from India.”

In his speech, PM Modi praised the diaspora for being India’s “Rashtradoot” (ambassadors), lauding them as key figures in spreading India’s cultural and economic influence worldwide. He emphasized how traditions like “Namaste” have transcended borders, becoming a global symbol of India’s ethos. “Every Indian who keeps India in his heart has contributed to this,” he added, commending their role in upholding the ancient philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” the belief that the world is one family.

Recalling his early interactions with the Indian community, Modi reflected on the deep bond he shares with the diaspora. “Your love is my great fortune,” he said, recounting his visits to the US before holding any official post. “Even before I was a leader, I visited about 29 states of America. Technology kept us connected even after I became the Chief Minister,” he noted, further strengthening his connection to the overseas Indian community.

Highlighting India’s rich cultural and linguistic diversity, Modi pointed out that the nation’s unity despite its differences is a testament to its strength. “We are a country where hundreds of languages and religions coexist, yet we move forward united,” he said. “This is our biggest strength, and it binds us naturally to the world.”

Modi also extended heartfelt gratitude to US President Joe Biden, recounting the personal warmth and hospitality he received during a recent visit to Biden’s home in Delaware. “His hospitality touched my heart. This honor belongs to the 1.4 billion Indians, this honor is yours, and of lakhs of Indians living here. I am grateful to President Biden and you people,” he said.
