India Approves Over ₹3,600 Crore for Hydroelectric Projects in Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi, 28th Nov. In a significant push for renewable energy and regional development, India has approved investments for two major hydroelectric projects in Arunachal Pradesh’s Shi Yomi district. A sum of ₹1,750 crore has been allocated for the construction of the 186 MW Tato-I Hydroelectric Project, while ₹1,939 crore will be invested in the 240 MW Heo Hydroelectric Project.

These projects are expected to enhance energy security, boost local employment, and contribute to the nation’s clean energy goals. Located in the northeastern state known for its abundant hydropower potential, the projects signify a step toward harnessing sustainable energy resources in the region.

Apart from generating substantial electricity, the initiatives are anticipated to strengthen the infrastructure and economy of the remote district. They also highlight India’s commitment to balancing developmental needs with environmental considerations, fostering growth while focusing on green energy solutions.
